Once a former rectory, this impressive 1870's Cornish granite coastal home has been lovingly restored to its former glory. Set deep in the heart of wild west Cornwall, Longships is the perfect holiday home for all the family to relax in Cornish style.

Inside

  • Style: Original features including Inglenook fireplaces, high ceilings and an impressive staircase create a fusion of countryside charm and coastal living.
  • Bedrooms: Choose from four double-bedded rooms all with dual aspect countryside coastal views. A smaller single room and also a twin room with sea view.
  • Bathrooms: Three of the double rooms have en suite shower rooms and there is a seperate family bathroom.
  • For relaxation: Relax in a deckchair in the garden and take in the stunning sea and coastal views, or kick back in the large conservatory with a glass of wine and watch the sunsets.
  • Practicalities: There is a utility room at the property with a washer and dryer.

Outside

The house itself is set in half an acre of mature private walled gardens with summerhouse and water feature. The views from the house are unsurpassed sweeping across open farmland and out to sea, on a fine day you can clearly see the Scilly Isles and Longships Rock.  There is off road parking for 4 cars.

Food and Wine

  • DIY: The property is available on a self catered basis. The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven and microwave and there is even a dishwasher so you can enjoy those balmy summer evenings for longer. The formal dining room is perfect for family meals or more special celebratory dining, while the  conservatory is a great informal room for leisurely breakfasts and afternoon teas. The local general store, post office and pub is just a short walk from the property.
  • In House Cuisine: Relax and let our recommended caterer take the strain. Choose to have your fridge filled with Cornish fare before your arrival and simply pop a homemade fish pie in the oven after your journey south or enjoy a delicious homecooked meal or BBQ to help celebrate those more special occasions.   • Eating out: Enjoy freshly caught seafood and local wines in some of Cornwall's finest restaurants. www.thebeachrestaurant.com down at Sennen Cove is a lovely spot to sit, sup sundowners and watch the sunset.

  • Local beaches: The house itself is located a short 15 minute walk across the fields and coastpath to the lovely beach at Sennen Cove, which is as popular with local surfers as it is sunbathers! Whitesand Bay is one of Cornwalls most beautiful beaches in Cornwall and forms part of the SouthWest Coastal path from The Lizard to St Ives. If its serenity and seclusion you are after then the smaller beaches of Porthcurno and Porthgwarra and also on hand.
  • Explore local villages: Explore the thriving and energised towns of St Ives where you can find the impressive Tate Modern and a plethora of seafood restaurants or perhaps Mousehole with its winding streets and bobbing fishing boats would make for a real Cornish day out, and you'll find some real characters at the fish market at Newlyn.
  • Lands End: Explore the myth and legend of Lands End only a mile away from the house.
  • Take to the skies: Enjoy a short helicopter ride from Penzance to the beautiful Isles of Scilly
